Things to do around Keepers Lodge, Castle Combe B&B

If you are looking for Castle Combe B&B, we are within easy walking distance of beautiful Castle Combe, Wiltshire’s prettiest village. Within the village are two pubs and the fabulous Manor House Hotel.

Castle Combe is a very popular destination for tourists and local people alike.

The village has been used to film some very famous films such as Dr Dolittle, Stardust, The Werewolf and War Horse.

Eating in Castle Combe

We have two pubs within walking distance (a pleasant walk through the golf course) of Keeper’s Lodge. The White Hart and The Castle in Castle Combe are the in the centre of the village. The Castle offers particularly good food and drink.

You will also find the beautiful Manor House Hotel in the centre of the village where Michelin Star fine dining can be enjoyed in the hotel’s Bybrook Restaurant.

Just a couple of minutes by car will get you to The Salutation at the Gibb who offer a good menu in a pleasant welcoming environment. The Bell in Yatton Keynell and The Neeld in Grittleton are also highly recommended.

A few miles up the road near Colerne you will find the fantastic Lucknham Park hotel and Spa where more Michelin Star fine dining can be experienced.

Of course, Bath is just 20 minutes away by car where a superb selection of excellent bars and restaurants can be found.

Golf at Castle Combe

We are very lucky in that we are right next to the beautiful Castle Combe Golf Course. Just 10 minutes by car and you can be at Bowood, another superb course.


We are surrounded by beautiful Wiltshire countryside  and there are many walks in the area. The famous MacMillan Way passes just a couple of miles from our door.


The fabulous Georgian city of Bath is just 20 minutes away and has some superb shopping.

Motor Sport

Castle Combe B&B Of course, the famous Castle Combe racing circuit is only a mile away.

As well as watching motor racing, Go Karting, 4×4 courses and a skid pan make a great day out at Drive Tech Ltd, who are located at the Circuit. Have a look at their website for details of their driving experiences.

Other places of interest

The National Trust village of Lacock with it’s beautiful abbey is a 5 minute drive away. This is another Wiltshire village that regularly plays host to films crews. Harry Potter, Cranford and Pride and Prejudice have all been filmed there.

The town of Tetbury is situated around 25 minutes away. As you’d expect, the local town of Prince Charles has some beautiful shops.
